Scaling-up with The Business Clinic

Uploaded by in NEL News & Insights on October 3, 2022

As an investor of high growth North East businesses, we are acutely aware of the challenges posed by the rising skills gap. The good news is that a lot of work is being done to mitigate these challenges, and there’s now a host of fully funded support to enable businesses to recruit and retain the talent needed to scale-up.

This video provides an overview of Northumbria University’s Business School, and the opportunities for SMEs, micro businesses, charities, social enterprises, and multinationals, across all sectors, to bring in fresh and uninfluenced ideas and solutions to overcome barriers to business growth.

Northumbria University Business Clinic matches final year undergraduate and masters students from the Business School to work on a consultancy basis to solve a diverse range of business problems and issues. These include feasibility studies, marketing strategies, HR and recruitment/retention strategies, finance and investment, logistics, international and tourism. Students are supervised by experienced tutors to produce a high-quality professional report.

To find out more about The Business Clinic as well as a range of other support, come along to the Bridging the Gap event on 13th October – An event focussed on bridging the skills gap within ambitious North East SMEs and enabling them to put unparalleled growth plans into action.
