NEL Fund Managers Limited (“NEL”) is an Employee Ownership Trust (“EOT”) looking to refresh its board of directors with the appointment of a new EOT Non-Executive Chair. Your role would comprise of:
• Chairing the EOT board
• facilitating excellent governance
• being a voice for the Employees at an annual Board Meeting of the Trading Company
• Developing a trusting relationship with the Chief Executive
The applicant could have experience of independent, strategic directorships across smaller organisations within the private, public or third sectors. Your background and professional qualifications may include business management, financial, legal, HR, strategic or governance knowledge.
This role would be best suited to a person with experience of board directorship and facilitating decision making in an organisation with high levels of employee engagement, ideally within an EOT.
NEL is a specialist alternative fund manager working with investors who share a passion for local SME growth. Financial instruments used include loans, mezzanine debt and venture capital targeted at achieving both strong financial and social returns for our funds’ investors. We are experts working in a culture of integrity, collaboration and professionalism. This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of the current Chair.
Board meetings will take place in the North East but open to holding virtual meetings. The time commitment would be two meetings per annum for an initial term of 3 years (circa. one day per annum including meeting preparation time).
